Week of October 12, 2009 Today's Program: Presentation on H1N1-What's Your Plan In Case You Missed It Monday's presentation was given by Terry Branstad on Des Moines University. Terry has been serving as President of Des Moines University since 2003. The University offers 9 graduate study programs focusing on health care. The University was honored with the Wellness Council of America's highest recognition, Platinum. Since being founded in 1898, the University was grown considerably over the last one hundred plus years. Terry is interested in expanding the graduate programs to include Optometry in the next few years. He also shared the importance the University puts on health and wellness of the students, faculty, staff, and families. Wellness centers and programs are available for all students and staff for no charge. Due to the measures and proactive approach of their wellness philosophy, medical costs for their employees have not increased for three straight years.
