In Case You Missed It

Last week's presenter was Judi Holdorf, Executive Director of the Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine.  The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine is nine years old and is a county wide charitable organization.  Judi described the business of the Foundation like a three legged stool with each "leg" or area of emphasis being endowments, grants and partnerships.  The Community Foundation of Greater Muscatine is accredited by the National Council on Foundations.  The Iowa Department of Economic Development has deemed the Foundation as eligible for Endow Iowa Funds, which they have received.  Judi said some of their most recent projects include the Weed Park Zoo Garden, YPN State Conference, and Muscatine! November 10th Club Announcements

·          November 17th --Rotary will be meeting at the Salvation Army for our Noon meeting.

·          Barb Christensen reminded us that Festival of Wreaths is happening now through the 15th of November at the Muscatine Art Center.

·          Tom Williams announced the Annual Report Breakfast for Muscatine Community Schools will take place on Tuesday, November 11th at 7:30 a.m. at the Administration Building.

·          Rich Dwyer gave an update on the Rotary Foundation.  Last year, over 111 million dollars were raised for the Rotary Foundation.  Rich challenged us to continue to give our annual gift of $100 per member and an additional contribution to help wipeout Polio.  

November 10th Happy News

·          Jane Daufeldt was excited that the Pearl City Black Bears, Muscatine Rugby Team, won their match last weekend.

·          Roger Lande and his son had a great time watching Iowa beat Penn State at Kinnick Stadium.

·           Marvin Krieger also attended the Iowa vs. Penn State game.  Marv said that game brought back many fond memories.

·          Dave Stanley, was delighted the Hawkeyes defeated the Nittany Lions.
