Today's Program:  Christy Roby Williams, Director Muscatine Regional Empowerment, will speak on collaboration efforts involving early care, education, health and human services on behalf of children and families residing in the area.

In Case You Missed It

Our presentation on Monday was given by Shane Orr and Debra Yonish, staff members of United Way of Muscatine.  Shane shared information on the Local Information-N-Connection to Services, a referral program for individuals and organizations in Muscatine, also known as LINCS.  This program helps individuals navigate through social services to ensure they are receiving the correct services and programs.  Debra shared with us information about Muscatine Community Volunteer Solutions.  This program matches volunteers with local organizations or groups that need volunteers.  One of their main focuses is on providing transportation to individuals who have doctors' appointments out of town and would not otherwise be able to get transportation.  If you would like more information on either program, call the United Way at 263-5963.

June 22nd Club Announcements

  • August 17th is Rotary Night at Modern Woodman Park.  Please come at 7 p.m. to help raise funds for Polio Plus and enjoy a night at the ballpark.  See Karen for more information.
  • Second reading for membership for Drew Burkamper of Lee Agency, Inc.  Drew is sponsored by Zach Klipsch, if you have any concerns about this proposed member please speak to a Board member.
  • Melanie Alexander and committee are seeking nominations for the following Rotary awards: Vocational Achievement, Citizen of the Year Award, and Robert L. Roach Award for Lifetime Service.  If you would like to nominate someone for one of these awards please speak to Melanie.
  • Jane Daufeldt asked that we all give to the Muscatine Chamber Foundation for this year's Fourth of July fireworks.  Please help our community provide a great fireworks show by giving.  If you would like more information about this year's fireworks or to give a donation please call 263-8895 or stop by the Chamber.
  • Joni Axel wrote a thank you note to Rotary for her recent Paul Harris Award.
  • Thank you notes were shared from the 4th graders for their dictionaries.

  • Karen Diercks, is happy that Shirley Jean attended Rotary today!
  • Paul Carroll-Saturday the 20th was the grand opening for the Ag Learning Center.  Thank you to everyone who helped make the Ag Learning Center a reality.
