In Case You Missed It

July 14's program was given by Ken Purdy on the current state of Lake Odessa.  Ken is currently serving as a Louisa County Supervisor.  Ken shared pictures from the late 1950's and how the landscape around Lake Odessa has changed.  Currently the water level on the lake ranges from 1.5 to 3 feet deep.  Most are not able to fish, canoe, swim or boat on the lake due to the low water level.  Ken explained the water level is maintained by the DNR at that level for the migrant bird population.  If you would like to know more about Ken's mission to raise the water level of Lake Odessa visit his website www.kenpurdy.com .  Ken also has some incredible photos of the devastating 2008 flood on this site.
