Dear Rotarians:
We need your assistance with the "Muscatine's Global Connection."
On August 15, Muscatine will welcome Senator Grassley's ambassador tour. There are dignitaries, from 65 different countries signed up for the tour. A reception is planned at The Rendezvous featuring industry displays and a dinner with visitors, business leaders, and host families.
Senator Grassley has a tradition of bringing ambassadors and trade council members from many countries to Muscatine on his rotational summer visits to Iowa. In previous visits, the entourage would spend part of a day and then leave for the next community. This year, the group will be spending the night in Muscatine with families hosting these dignitaries in their homes. Home stays give these global visitors a true flavor of Iowa hospitality. Please consider hosting one or more of the couples in your home.
There are two opportunities to participate as a host family and/or exhibitor at the reception. Muscatine has many important foreign connections with family, friends, and business relationships. Contact GMCCI if you would like to host an ambassador or have a table top booth at the reception. There is limited space for exhibitors and the space will be assigned to GMCCI members on a first come first serve basis. We need at least 65 homes for the dignitaries for a very short stay (7 PM on August 15th until 7 AM on the 16th). Call Jane Daufeldt at the office 563.263.8895 or email jdaufeldt@muscatine.com and ask for Grassley's Tour Host and/ or Exhibitor forms.
