In Case You Missed It
Max Allan Collins was the presenter last week. He told us about his new book, "Red Sky in the Morning." The book was written from a two hour interview with Allan's Father, Max. Collins attended Iowa on an athletic/music scholarship and was always a Hawkeye. He was in the human resources department at HON and was very instrumental in the Elks Chanters and various church choirs. Allan used stories from his dad about World War II and the various challenges he encountered as an enlisted officer with an all African American squad. Since his squad was instrumental in loading ammunition he felt it was very important that they be taught how to read "danger", etc. and that these soldiers also be treated equally. Books are on-sale now at Books N More!
Pat Collins also was presented the Rotary Paul Harris Fellow award for her late husband, Max Collins.
