Presentation-

Dave Cook- D6000 District Governor

Together we create the Magic of Rotary
Ralph Waldo Emerson said, “The creation of a thousand forests is in one acorn.” This wisdom resonates with Rotary. Rotarians are part of a thousand forests that began as a small acorn when Paul Harris started the first club in 1905. From that small acorn grew 36,000 clubs in 220 countries. By 1925 there were already more than 50 clubs in Iowa, including our club in Muscatine.
In the words of RI president Stephanie Urchick, “We are not going to grow membership, end polio, or bring peace to the world by waving a wand…” “It’s up to you. You create the magic with every project completed, every dollar donated, and every new member inducted.”
District Goals:
  1. Achieve the first net increase in District 6000 membership in over a decade.
  2. Reduce the 5-year average of newer members lost.
  3. Help start 4 new club extensions.
  4. Generate new service project ideas based on the interests of club members.
  5. Inspire greater giving to our foundation.
