Happy News/Announcements:  All Happy News funds go towards our scholarship awards.
Chuck Moody- $2 Chuck attended the Honor Flight on Tuesday. The flight left at 5 am and returned after 10 pm. The tour included visiting the Smithsonian and War Memorials, including the Vietnam Memorial. Rich Dwyer- Rich provided an update on the levee project presented last year. The project is moving forward. If you are interested in writing a letter of support for the project’s next phase, please get in touch with Rich. Karen Cooney- It was a busy weekend. Encore for Murder enjoyed a successful premiere on Friday night. The film won three awards at a Film Festival. The awards will support the grant and funding requests for the upcoming Blue Christmas film project. Saturday morning, Karen participated in the 10th Annual Race for the Schools 5K. The Art Center hosted a sold-out crowd for a Tea Party fundraiser Saturday afternoon. Charla Shafer- The Clinic project is underway. A groundbreaking will be held in Mid-June with an 18-month project timeline. 3D house printing will begin in the next few weeks, and MCC will offer the first 3D house printing certification courses in the state.

Human Trafficking Survivor Video Testimonial
This presentation is part of the Rotary Club of Muscatine and District 6000 commitment to bringing awareness to Human Trafficking. In addition to today’s survivor testimonial, our club has had presentations by Maggie Tinsmen and Senator Paul Pate. Senator Pate asked our clun to join the Learn Something and Do Something mission. Our club has provided Human Trafficking information and resources at the Community Block Party, District Conference, and the Internet Safety Resource Fair. We will partner with other service clubs for presentations to spread awareness.
