In Case You Missed It
Our presentation on Monday was given by Dr. Chuck Huss, on his Mt. Everest expeditions. Chuck has a very interesting background in outdoor adventures including climbing highest peaks in 19 countries, ascended the highest one hundred peaks in Colorado, completed 41 marathons, completed 8 ski marathons, and has ran approximately 65,000 miles in 29 years. Chuck shared with us his extraordinary experience of climbing Mt. Everest. Each day while on the two week experience about 32 miles are climbed a day, many of them being 90 degree ice covered cliffs. Chuck said the cost to climb Mt. Everest is typically $75,000 and an additional $10,000 in gear. The pictures Chuck shared were breathtaking and often surreal.
