Jim Sturms provided the invocation and Scott Ingstad was the song leader!!

President Tom reminded us that a guest meal is now $5 and should entice all of us to bring potential new members as our guests!!

Happy News:  Sarah Lande had a wonderful time on her Rotary Friendship Exchange to Africa and encourages all of us to vote pro Land and Water Legacy tomorrow.

Kip Fisher lauded the Cyclones and proudly sported his Cyclone Tie and also applauded the Hawks too!!

Bob Lande reminded us to vote pro judges...
 
Dick Stanley reiterated all of the above and said vote!! 

Scott Ingstad applauded the Muskies, was glad the election will be over..he can watch television again.

Diana Gradert was a proud Wilton Beaver grandparent noting the Girls Cross Country Team came in 12th at State!! 

Paula LaVasseur from New Horizons gave a brief overview of the Christmas Connection Project that will coordinate the delivery of Christmas Baskets to families in our community. Collaborators include: Muscatine County Community Services, the Muscatine Ministerial Association, Pearl City Outreach, Family Resources, Trinity Muscatine, Muscatine County CARES, Lutheran Services in Iowa, MCSA, Muscatine Community Y, the United Way of Muscatine,the Candy Cane Project, Senior Resources and the Salvation Army.  

Persons or businesses interested in participating or referring individuals should contact the United Way Office.  Persons or companies interested in manning the Christmas Connection Store Front should also contact United Way.

Paula spent the remaining time on the topic of drugs in Muscatine... alcohol is number one.  25% of the admissions to New Horizons are Meth users... rankings of drugs in the community are: alcohol, marijuana, meth and cocaine..

Prescription Drugs are the trend now...with a search of the home medicine cabinet or even purchased off the street... Use is becoming multigenerational... middle school through adults.
