Program for Today:  The Rotary Foundation by William Koellner

November 15, 2010 Guests:  Mark Krieger one of the three Guys with a Kettle !! Jeremy Heinesh, Rotary Exchange Student and the following MHS 3.0 Seniors: Brandon Honeyman, Gabriel Jardin, T.J. Husar, Jared Hetzler, Michael Haller, Zachary Hetzler, Madeline Hartman,Brianna Holladay, and Jake Mueller.

President Tom shared the MAC Good Sportsman Award information citing that the Muskie Girls Softball Team, fans and coaches had scored a PERFECT score and won the Spring/Summer 2010 award!!  Go Muskies!!

Rick Ray and Mark Krieger shared their insights into the 2010 Red Kettle Salvation Army Campaign.  The goal is to raise over $110,000 this year.  A silver tree is set up at Krieger's that will light in segments as the community achieves that monetary goal. 

Captain Ray mentioned that there are 11 Kettle sites across Muscatine:  HyVee (2), Fareway, WalMart (2), Walgreens, Tru Value, HyVee Drug Store, Pearl Plaza, Blockbuster Video and HyVee Gas Station.  

Volunteers can sign up online by going to myvolunteerpage.com and clicking on Muscatine, Iowa and clicking Salvation Army.  

In addition to the Red Kettle Campaign the Salvation Army site will host free Thanksgiving Dinner from 11-2 P.M. on Thanksgiving.  Angel Tree donations are being accepted with distributions being made on December 22 and 23.

Charlie Lewis and President Tom Ward presented Mark Krieger and Rick Ray with a $2000 check as a Rotary and a silent donor's gift to help the Red Kettle Campaign gain steam!! ($1000 silent donor, Rotary $700 meal contribution and $300 donation)   Â
