Rotary Announcements: Ron Yohe was enroute to the emergency room earlier this morning with a gall stone attack. Kelly Garvin and Mike Ruby attended PETS Training in Rochester, Minnesota this past weekend. Over 50 persons attended the Murder Mystery Guest Night with YPN. Big Thank YOU to Barb Christensen, and Sara Ingstad for working with YPN to bring this to us!!

Happy News: Keith Porter is proud of the MHS Show Choir for great ratings; Caren Luke, Diana Gradert and Mary Wildermuth were happy to show off their new dance skills learned at the Murder Mystery, Diana Gradert is happy her grandson is home from his Australia Internship, Brian Chapman is proud of the MHS Bowlers and announced he is in the running for National Coach of the Year, Jim Stein is proud of his son in law who has been named one of the top 40 young business leaders in the Quad Cities. David Stanley is proud of those Hawkeyes and the string of tales told at the Murder Mystery. Rick Ray is reminding us of the Salvation Army's Cabbage Dinner on March 12 from 5-7:00 P.M. Sarah Lande was proud of the community and the Chinese VP's Visit!! Harvey Albee is putting up a dollar for the University of Illinois win over Iowa and holding onto another $ for next week's win!! Sara Ingstad was proud to say that the Murder Mystery event was a success and that you don't have to be over 50 to be in Rotary!!

Mike made a special sustaining Paul Harris Award to Sally Rigler for her father Jack Rigler. A 2 sapphire pin was given to Jack in February by Jim Stein and Charlie Lewis. Jack is the Director Emeritus of Central Bankshares and was the Chief Executive Officer for Central State Bank for many successful years.

Program for Today: Bill Decker introduced the MHS Block Schedule program with great news...the graduation rate is going up from 70% to 74% to 78% to 83% this year!! ITED scores are in and the Juniors have done very well..highest scores since the beginning of NCLB in Math!!

Ben Nietzel, Dan Ramos, Andy Prinsen and Bob Weaton provided a great overview of the planned changes for the class schedule for next year at MHS. The Block format will be in segments of 90 minutes or 40 minutes and will enable students to take more offerings at MHS and at MCC.
