Rotary News: New Member Orientation is June 12th at the McAVoy Center.  Service Project Opportunity to help with the 4th of July Parade. Help line up the parade! 3:15 PM until 6:00 PM. August 5th is Rotary Night at the Ballpark!!  Gary Welch has agreed to hold open the spots for RYLA for Muscatine until next year. We only found one interested student. Jim Sturms has been hospitalized over the past month and will be having surgery in the next few days!!

Happy News: Paul Kraushaar is a proud grandpa his granddaughter just crawled today!! Scott Natvig is a proud grandpa with his first grandson being born and his third grandchild!!

Rotary Program: Chris Steinbach provided an informative program on TEAM MCSA and this year's RAGBRAI!!  21 team members are participating with Chris, Janet Morrow, Jerry and Jody Riibe, Rich Dwyer and his two sons, Mike and Shelley MaHarry and of course Mayor Hopkins who will be driving the bus over. RAGBRAI this year extends from July 20-26.  Team members are raising $600 each for MCSA.  Also Macy Morrow and Caleb Hoffman are panhandling at breakfast stops along the route to ask for donations for the homeless shelter. They will hold up signs indicating they have a bed while others do not etc.

MCSA housed over 700 persons last year. There were 22,000 overnight stays in the shelter and over 800 persons served by the clinic. MCSA now has the Robert Young Center is providing Mental Health Clinic services, as well as, a dental clinic provided by Nathan Olson.  In August MCSA will host an Adopt-A-Day Campaign where businesses can support MCSA for a day or partner with others to provide the $1500 needed to cover the daily operations!!
