In Case You Missed It
Last week's presenter was Don Lampe with Habitat for Humanity. Don is currently serving as President of the Board of Directors. Don shared with us information on how families are selected and the process of building a Habitat Home. Don said that one of the misconceptions of Habitat for Humanity is that homes are given to families for free, which is incorrect. The family purchases the home from Habitat at the cost of materials and overhead for building the home. Habitat for Humanity is always looking for volunteers to help with construction. Volunteers will receive training or tasks based on their skill level and comfort. They are currently in the process of building house #7.
