THIS WEEK'S PROGRAM Return visit of Bill Aossey of Cedar Rapids (he was Bill Housh's guest a couple of months back but the meeting was so loaded with other business that he didn't have a chance to speak much.
LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM What is going on with ACT scores? Our speaker was Ms. Deb Fitzgerald of ACT. She came all the way from Chicago to tell us how they track performance, analyze individual and school system performance, and detemine what's going on. Deb is a boxer in her spare time. So the questions were pretty pleasant.

Rich Dwyer told us about the matching dollars from national, state and district. He also scolded us about the fact that onlt one third of the members pitched in for our current Polio Plus Push.
Keith Porter told us about an opportunity to attend a variety show at Faith United Church of Christ. This show will benefit the Muscatine Kosovo project. It's Saturday, January 19 (hence the early bulletin). Dinner at 5:30 and the show right after dinner (about 7). Then another dinner and another show. Tickets are only $10 for the dinner and the show. They're only $5 for the show only.
Dawn Sturms encouraged us to attend Business After Hours next Tuesday (January 22) at Family Resources Inc. That's in the Medical Arts Building at 119 Sycamore Steet. It's from 4:30 until 6:30.
HAPPY NEWS
Ann Moody was happy to tell us about her nephew Nick Rasmussen (that's her sister Jane's son) who works for George Lucas. He's won an academy award! THAT's RIGHT! A R E A L Academy Award --- an Oscar! ! !
Dave Stanley cautioned us to "newer say 'never'." The Hawkeyes beat Michigan State. Yes, friends, modern miracles are happening every day.
Dave Utley was sort of miffed that Dave Stanley beat him to the microphone. But he was just as happy.
John Stevens was also just as happy.
Scott Ingstad wanted to tell us that coaching DOES matter and was equally happy about the Hawks.
Kelly Garvin was happy to tell us about the first outdoor board the club as posted. It's on Highway 61. Go take a look!

TODAY'S ROTARY MOMENT
In 1931, the wife of the past president of London's West Ham Rotary club, suggested the club present the borough's 450 blind residents with white sticks so they could navigate the streets more safely, especially at night. The club enthusiastically endor sed the idea and the entire London district adopted it. By 1935, 116 Rotary clubs across Britain and Ireland had "white stick" community service projects and the idea soon spread around the world.
