We were also reminded that we will be meeting at MCC's Little Theatre on December 19th for our meeting. A Rotarian in our club will contribute $1000 to Rotary Polio Plus and the Salvation Army if we will match that donation in the next couple of weeks. Leave your donation with the back table.

We were reminded to sign up at the Blue Zone Website to give Muscatine enough community votes to help in the grant the community is applying for. The site is: bluezonesprojectusa@healthcorp.com.

H appy News for the Day: Tom and Judy Ward will be joining the Friendship Tour to New Zealand for 2 weeks in March. Ron Yohe's wife is recovered now from a nasty bout with a bug...and he is happy because he has been the pastor at the New Boston Church for 20 years. Rick Ray has been married for 21 years on the 24th and Diana Gradert enjoyed the Boston Pops last evening in Iowa City. And Mike Ruby our President has been a Rotarian for 32 years!!

Program for today: Andrea Scott from the Muscatine Young Professionals and Manager of the First National Branch Office delighted us with her quick wit and conversational presentation style. She noted that YPN is a professional development organization that is designed to engage young professionals to remain in the community. 400 persons receive the newsletter, emails etc. while 150 persons are paid members who attend events at local restaurants and participate in activities like the Halloween Hike, Patriart Week and monthly get together after work to network .

Quarterly a professional development event is held to inform members of areas of interest. Additionally, these YPN'ers volunteer and support the community throught Big Brothers, Big Sisters, Two Weeks of Love etc.

The new addition this year is an upcoming local scholarship with details to be finalized. YPN is designed for 20-30 year olds and could be considered the younger Rotarian organization.
