Member Profile Tara Prosek gave us a member profile. She's a Muscatine native, mother of three and a graduate of University of Wisconsin. While she was there (as a finance major) she worked on the Badger Herald, a self-sustaining daily student paper with a circulation of 20,000. She's married to Joe Prosek who is an assistant principal for the Muscatine Community School System. Tara worked for General Electric and Wells Fargo for several years before returning to Muscatine because it is a good place to rear a family. She is in partnership with her mom in a real estate business. Rotary has answered by pointing out that the goal of all Rotarians is to advance world peace and understanding between all people, and the work of individual Rotarians in international service is the fuel that powers that engine. Happy News Sarah Lande was happy there is a new Sunday brunch at the Button Factory. Is this because she's tired of Roger cooking the same old thing Sunday after Sunday? Roger Lande was happy to tell us there are only 11 months to go before the Presidential elections. Roger hopes we all vote at the caucuses. This is a unique opportunity for the people of Iowa to make a significant impact on he nature of government for the next four years. Go to your local caucus. Harvey Allbee, Jr., was thrilled to wave a dollar bill around that had recently belonged to Norm Smith. Norm Smith was happy to part with the dollar because even with a loss to Iowa, the Illini are STILL going to the Rose Bowl. Scott Ingsted was happy that so many people are ringing the bells for the Salvation Army. The S.A. lost a lot of ground because of nasty weather. He asked for members to step up and help a little. Marv Krieger was happy to tell about the cooperation of Krieger Motor and KWPC for Toys for Tots and Food for the Hungry. Karen Diercks was happy to tell about handing out dictionaries to 4th graders.
