In Case You Missed It

Our presentation on Monday was given by Barb Krall on Senior Resources.  Senior Resources mission is to promote programs to enhance the quality of life for individuals ages 60+ and has been providing superior services for over 35 years.  Services that are offered include Outreach, Adult Day, Nutrition Sites, Meals on Wheels, Home Repair, Chore, and SHIIP.  Barb is focused on tailoring services to seniors as their needs and family's needs change over time.  Senior Resources is always in need of volunteers for delivering Meals on Wheels.  This volunteer opportunity is prefect for working individuals to give back over their lunch time.  Volunteers are also needed for lawn mowing and snow removal at seniors homes in Muscatine County.  If you would like to learn more about Senior Resources or how to volunteer, please contact Barb at 263-7292 or visit their website http://www.muscatineseniorresources.com/

August 24th Club Announcements

  • Don't forget to about the partnership with the Muscatine Lions and Rotary to provide entertainment and a fundraising opportunity.  "Branson on the Road" will be in concert on Sunday, August 30th at 3 p.m. at Central Middle School Auditorium.  All proceeds from this concert will be used for community projects.  If Rotary sells 100 tickets we will receive 10% of the proceeds for our last portion of our commitment to the Bridge Tribute Project.  Tickets will be available at Rotary for multiple weeks.
  • Pack the Park was a success, over 50 people attended from Muscatine.  Mary did throw out the first pitch and made it into the mitt!  Please donate $1 for Mary's success to Polio Plus.
  • Special thanks to Karen Diercks, Button Factory Restaurant, Ellie's Tea and Coffee, and Charlie Lewis for donating silent auction items for the game.
  • Rotary and YPN will be meeting to discuss possible partnerships for this next year.
  • Beans or Stake?  It's time to decide who you are rooting for: Iowa or Iowa State?  Please sign up.
  • There will not be any more morning make up meetings this fall.
  • Craig Bode needs you! Craig is the new chair for programs and he is looking for monthly program chairs, if you are interested please see him at the meeting or email him at craig.bode@rockvalleypt.com.
  • Rotary Family Picnic is scheduled for Thursday, September 17th at Weed Park's tennis court shelter at 6:00 PM.  We will be having a potluck again this year.  Please mark your calendars!
