ANNOUNCEMENT:
Gladys Reif thumped the drum for trivia night at the Holiday Inn. This is a fund raiser for the Hole in the Wall Gang camp that provides recreation for children with serious illnesses.
Caren Luke told us about the first annual community-wide day of caring coming up September 19. Sharon Gibson-Ellis has details.
LAST WEEK'S PROGRAM:
Diane McCleary told us about meals on wheels. This wonderful project serves three meals a day to 78 people and helps them maintain their living independence. Volunteers deliver about 18,000 meals per year. Our own Jack Richards was one of those drivers.
Member Profile:
Tracy Johannsen gave her member profile. Tracy comes to us from Sheboygan and moved here with her parents. She attended M.C.C. and St. Ambrose. After stints at Allsteel, The HON Company and the Convention and Visitors Bureau, she found her perfect opportunity at the Holiday Inn. Married to Randy. No kids but a couple of pets. Likes to shop, play golf & watch sports on TV.

Today's Rotary Moment By their fifth meeting it was clear that the membership of the first Rotary Club was too large to fit into any member's office, so it was suggested that they meet in a hotel. They approached the manager of the Palmer House hotel and persuaded him to let the club use a meeting room on the balcony at no charge. It was such a success, that the next time they met at the Brevoort Hotel which served them dinner. This marked the beginning of the tradition of having the Rotary meeting over lunch or dinner.
