Rotary Convention is at Riverside Casino on Friday, April 13, 2012. Let Mike know if you are planning on attending. Carpooling is encouraged and the club will pay $10 of the cost for your participation.

Stacy Lewis and Gary Wieskamp have both resigned from our club.

Todd Poci updated the club on the new member project... a community garden at Crossroads..

Happy News: Gregs Thomoplous recognized Gale Roberts for her Athena Leadership Award; Rose Mary Boesen is happy and sad that her son is moving to Indiana and she reminded us of the Night at the Races for United Way on April 27, 2012. Rich Dwyer noted the name change for Muscatine Foods to Kent Corporation and with it is a relocation across town!! Bob Allbee is happy that Entrepreneurship Day was a big success! Gayle Roberts wanted to thank Gregs but also let everyone know that Diane Campbell also received the Athena Leadership Recognition.Bill Decker applauded Diane's work within the district leading to her nomination for the Athena Award and for Molly Elizalde being at Rotary again to share the Muskie Mentoring Story. Bill Phelan thanked everyone for making GMCCI's Annual Meeting a rousing success!! Legislative Forum is Saturday at MCC. Dawn Dodd reminded us of the New Beginnings Fundraiser on April 14.

Program for Today: Craig Bode introduced Molly to share the Muskie Mentoring story!! Molly invited our continued participation in the Mentoring Initiative taking place between April 16 and May 4, 2012. The Mentoring Program has been implemented to give students an opportunity to learn about a future career through an in person experience and project.

Muscatine Connected is the 501 c3 organization that has done the research and is implementing programs in the community to encourage future success by graduating from high school. It costs a community $20 million over a 40 year work career for 100 persons without a high school diploma.
