April 19 Program:
Leadership Muscatine Projects...

In Case You Missed It:
April 5th's presentation was an update on the Muscatine Community College Capital Improvement Bond Levy Project given by Jeff Armstrong, Muscatine Community College's interim president. On September 11, 2007 the vote for the 10-year bond levy project (2008-2018) was approved with an 82% approval rating in Muscatine. The levy raised 33 million dollars district wide with 6.5 million for Muscatine projects. MCC is working on the following projects.

• New Science Labs in Strahan Hall
• McAvoy Center - to hold classes for Iowa Wesleyan, St. Ambrose, & continuing education
• Muscatine Agricultural Learning Center - holds classes for MCC holds Vet Tech program
• Regional Centers - Columbus, West Liberty, and Wilton
• Technology
• Remodel of Strahan Hall - upgrading old chemistry labs (to use as soil science labs), health studies labs, create faculty offices, upgrade the lecture hall and music room
• Remodel of Student Center - new welcome center, bookstore/cafe, advising center, regional business office, financial aid, copy shop/mail center

April 5th Announcements :

• April is magazine month and district convention month.
• Guest Night will be on April 17th with heavy hors d'oeuvres at the Holiday Inn from 5:00 - 6:30 followed by a night at the Symphony. To purchase tickets, please contact Barb Christiansen or Mary Wildermuth.
• Guest night will replace the meeting on Monday so there will be NO MEETING on the 12th.
