Presentation-
Dr. Thomas Laehn- Greene County Attorney, the author of a forthcoming book on the United States Constitution, and a fellow Rotarian

Thomas is also the only Libertarian to hold an elective partisan office in the State of Iowa, so he offers a unique perspective on current events in our state. His editorials have been featured in both the Des Moines Register and the Cedar Rapids Gazette. He is also the treasurer of his local Rotary Club in Jefferson. Thomas is currently traveling the state speaking to civic organizations about his new book, which explores how the relationship between Congress and the presidency has changed over the course of our nation’s history. In particular, Thomas argues that Congress has largely abdicated its constitutional responsibilities, thereby allowing presidents of both parties to expand their power beyond its constitutional limits.
