Mike Wedell- Dog sitter update—Thank you, Eric, for stepping in to help out. Mike Ruby- Stopped by the Art Center for the Muscatine History exhibit. It was beautiful. Melanie Alexander- thank you to all the Rotarians who stopped by to see the Muscatine History exhibit. If you have not seen it, catch a final showing right after today’s meeting or Tuesday when the boats are in town from 9:30-12.
 
Club Business:
  • Mobile Food Pantry- Pack it forward Monday 8/8 from 6-8 pm, Pantry pick-up day is 8/9 from 4-6 pm. Both events are at the Muscatine Church of Christ.
  • District 6000 Rotarians, your Friendship Team has been working diligently to develop a Friendship Exchange week with our Rotarian friends in southern Texas, District 5930.  Eight to ten Rotarians are invited to travel to southern Texas (Corpus Christi & several other cities) on October 12 to be hosted by Texas Rotarians in District 5930.
  • Follow the Rotary Club of Muscatine’s Facebook page, @MuscatineRotaryClub.
  • We are looking for members to join the board. This is a great opportunity to get involved and give back.

Muscatine County Conservation
 
The mission of the Muscatine County Conservation Board is to:
  • Preserve and enhance natural areas and resources in Muscatine County for the use and benefit of the community
  • Preserve sufficient natural habitats in Muscatine County
  • Ensure the survival of native plants and animals
  • Acquire, develop, and manage land for public hunting, fishing, camping, and recreation
  • Promote public appreciation and responsibility for the environment through education- Presented 864 programs with a total of 18,035 people.

Online reservations began on April 2, 2025, for:
  • Deep Lakes Park Cabins (4)
  • Shelters
    • 3 at Discovery Park
    • 2 at Saulsbury Bridge Rec. Area
    • 1 at Jack Shuger Memorial Park
  • Saulsbury Lodge
  • Saulsbury Campsites (24 out of 35+)
New campgrounds at Deep Lake Park- Expected completion: Sept. 2025
Celebrated the Environmental Learning Center's 20th anniversary in July with a fish fry and community event.
