Lindsey Phillips – The Hy-Vee Car Show to support Big Brothers Big Sisters and Special Olympics is this Saturday. Registration starts at 8 a.m. Come out and join us! Jessica Pfab – Recently traveled with her husband. They spent a weekend in Chicago at the NASCAR Street Races and also made a trip to Colorado for a wedding and to visit family. Megan Francis – The Thanksgiving in July Food Drive wrapped up today with 4,650 lbs of food collected for local pantries. Mark your calendar now: Crossroads FestivALL returns to Second Street on Saturday, September 20 from 1–7 p.m. Bands include Winterland, a Grateful Dead cover band, and The Insiders, a Tom Petty tribute band. Mark Roberts – Thank you to everyone who attended Business After Hours last week. It was a great turnout!

What’s going on at the Chamber?
Business After Hours and ribbon cutting events continue to stay busy. Business After Hours are now booked through 2026! CBI will host the next one on the Thursday before the Iowa vs. Iowa State game.
 
Our Summer Intern Series wraps up this week. We welcomed 150 interns from businesses across Muscatine. The goal of the program is to engage interns in the community by hosting social events at parks and local businesses that highlight all that Muscatine has to offer.
 
The HR Roundtable partnership with MRA is back to share resources and best practices with HR professionals in the area.
 
Tourism Updates:
  • August 23: Summer Sales & Ales – Enjoy shopping and beer pairings, ending at Contrary Brewing.
  • August 28: Chamber Golf Day – Registration is still open to all GMCCI members.
  • October: Pearl City Vintage Market returns!
  • American Cruise Lines has completed 3 of 13 scheduled summer visits.
  • September 11: A WWII ship will visit Muscatine. School tours will take place during the day, followed by an evening remembrance event open to the public.
