Melanie Alexander- Melanie’s 8th grader had his first school soccer game. Great musical events are taking place on Saturday. First, Bill Anson is performing a free concert at the Art Center from 4-5:30 pm, and then artwork from the Art Center collections will be displayed during the Symphony Orchestra performance at Wesley Church at 7 pm. Diana Gradert- Diana is back from 3 months in Florida. While she was away, her family welcomed her great-grandbaby. Mark Roberts- Mark is about to upset a few people at work. He won the women’s basketball pool and, if Houston wins, he will win the men’s pool too. Mark also attended the Rotary Leadership Institute over the weekend. He looks forward ot sharing the valuable information learned at a future meeting. Lindsey Phillips- Following an out-of-town tournament over the weekend, her son’s U9 baseball team is ranked #1 in the state. Megan Francis- Two events at Crossroads on Tuesday. Join us for Community Advocacy Chat from 3:30-4:30, and then the Crossroads Leadership team will share 2024 successes and the organization’s vision for 2025 during the Evening of Impact from 5:30-7:00 pm. We would love for you to join us. On Thursday, her little guy celebrates his 10th birthday.
Club Business:
- Follow the Rotary Club of Muscatine’s Facebook page, @MuscatineRotaryClub.
- We are looking for members to join the board and/or help with programs and membership. This is a great opportunity to get involved and give back.
- May 10- Garage Sale Fundraiser. More information to come.
- Work started on the Pocket Park. We will update the Rotary grant activity as that process continues.

Carrie Garr- Caption Call
In Iowa, CaptionCall, a free service for those with hearing loss, provides captioned telephone service, allowing users to see captions of phone calls in real time, and is offered by Sorenson Communications. CaptionCall is available to anyone who has hearing loss that necessitates the use of captioned telephone service. Anyone interested in Caption Call can self refer, no doctors referral or orders are needed to receive a phone. CaptionCall is a no-cost service funded by the government as an Internet Protocol Captioned Telephone Service (IP CTS). You'll need a landline, high-speed internet, or a smartphone.
