Lindsey Phillips- Excited to announce a successful Bowl for Kids Sake yesterday. With sponsors and fundraising the event raised $75K to support programming. Rich Dwyer- Rich’s family welcomed their first grandchild last Monday. Mike Wedell- Thank you to all who attended the membership recruitment event at Proof Social last Tuesday. Look for more events in the future. Mike’s daughter shared a Musatine connection stating a Muskie alumni on the Yale Track team ran a personal best last week.

- We are looking for members to join the board and/or help with programs and membership. This is a great opportunity to get involved and give back.

Programs of Character Development include Skill Building, Youth Sports, Kids’ Club, Teen Programming, and Community Involvement/ Special Events. The program's mission statement is to provide children and young people with opportunities for self-discovery and skill development that promote growth into responsible adulthood in an environment that values their diversity, leadership, and point of view.
The skill building and youth sports objectives are Youth will develop skills related to the activity they are participating in. Youth will develop an understanding of sportsmanship and fair play and will be able to model these concepts. Youth will feel part of a team and feel valued through the socialization of team play and game days. Youth will enjoy the sport they are participating in.
While the objectives for Kid’s Club and teen programming include Youth will feel they are valued in the community because resources are available to meet their needs. Youth will feel valued because they are contributing meaningfully to the life of the community. Youth will feel safe in their community because they are actively involved in positive behaviors with peers and adult role models. Youth will be able to build self-esteem through involvement in programs that encourage creativity and leadership.
To make sure we are putting those positive youth development pieces into play with each and every one of our programs, adult staff, and volunteers are committed to doing these Five Adult Evidence-based Practices to encourage youth to develop and integrate a set of values, skills, attitudes, and behaviors that allow them to operate successfully and responsibly in learning, work, and life.
