Lindsey Phillips- Sad news to share, fellow Rotarian and past City Administrator, Carol Webb’s husband passed away on January 2nd. Please keep her family in your thoughts.

Muscatine Airport Overview

Airport History-
Started by a private company in 1928. Ownership was transferred to the City in 1930. The City council passed an ordinance creating the board of airport commissioners. The first meeting of the commissioners was held on January 6, 1931. Carver Aero formed as a holding company for Carver Pump’s aviation interests at the airport. In 1990 Carver Aero became a Fixed Base Operator (FBO) at the airport.
 
Airport Buildings:
Terminal Building, 4 corporate hangars, 20 T-hangars, 3 box hangars, maintenance building, community hangar that can store about 15-20 small planes
Runways:
5,500-foot main runway
4,000-foot cross-wind runway
Property:
680 acres: 394 used for aviation, 286 leased farm ground
 
Recent and upcoming projects:
2020: 3 box hangars and apron expansion completed
2021: Taxiway A reconstructed
2024: Fuel system relocation project
2025: Runway lighting replacement project
2026: Replacement of snow removal equipment
