Ryan Steck- Ryan enjoyed a road trip in his EV and was glad everything worked out great. He played best ball this past weekend. Keith Porter- Keith also endorses EVs, and thank you to everyone who came out for the Stanley Center of Peace and Security opening weekend.

  • Our club committed to assisting a Ukraine family with needed supplies to settle in Muscatine. The family consists of Mom, Dad, and two boys. Thank you to everyone who has donated to the family. We can still accept donations of pantry items and gift cards.
  • Save the Date: the next Mobile Food Pantry distribution is Tuesday, June 13th.

Benefits of Assisted Living: Personal care, hands-on assistance with activities of daily living, safety and security, activities and socialization, comfortable home-like setting, independence, nutrition and dining options, peace of mind, and more free time.
As of March 1st, Bickford Assisted Living is now under new management. Updates under the new management include a new name, Pearl City Place, and a facelift to meet the needs of residents and staff. The new management company, Omega Senior Living, emphasizes the importance of community involvement and looks forward to partnering with community organizations. Peal City Place has 45 apartments, and seven are memory care specific.

It’s Week 2 of RI’s Month of Rotary Fellowships
 
Welcome back home to all Rotarians who attended the International Convention in Melbourne, Australia.  While the main event of the year was happening down under, Rotary clubs in other parts of the globe were busy advancing world understanding by providing quality education, one of the primary mission goals of TRF.
 
This week’s FM is on three Rotary Clubs that have provided scholarships to needy students.  The Vancouver Rotary Foundation awarded $120,000 in college scholarships ranging in value from $2,000 to $4,000 to 32 southwest Washington high school and college students. In 50 years, the foundation, which is the charitable arm of the Rotary Club of Vancouver, has awarded more than $2 million in scholarships to local students. In another report, the foundation of the Casa Grande Rotary Club (AZ) has awarded $80,500 to students and three nonprofit organizations. On Tuesday, June 6, 2023, during a club meeting at Eva’s Fine Mexican Food, the foundation awarded $11,500 each to Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sun Corridor, Pinal Council for CASA/Foster Inc. and the AARP Reading Literacy Program. The foundation also recently awarded college scholarships totaling $46,000 to seniors at Casa Grande high schools. Over the years, the club has awarded more than $1.5 million in scholarships and been a longtime contributor to the Boys & Girls Clubs and other nonprofits.
 
On Friday June 10, Dr. Michael Hart of Rotary Club of Westfield (NJ) reports that his club has awarded $94,450 in scholarships to 16 students. Since 1967 the Rotary Club of Westfield has awarded over $3.4 million dollars in scholarships to approximately 1,800 students.
