Happy News/Announcements: Megan Francis- Senior Resources Christmas Basket Program is going on. You can contact Senior Resources to Adopt a Senior and provide a special Christmas gift basket to a senior in need of holiday cheer 563-263-7292. A reminder the puppies she is fostering are available on Petfinder and ready for adoption Dec. 14th. Frank Iliff- Reminder of Rotary time slot for FREEZING FOR FOOD at HyVee tomorrow from 10am-12pm. Erica Cox- Discover Muscatine hosted the Holiday Stroll Friday night and MPW had a very festive truck covered in lights and handed out 2022 calendars. 2022 will be special because MPW is celebrating 100 years of electric utility and 35th anniversary of communication utility. Mike Ruby- Mike is the Chair of the Salvation Army advisory committee. We NEED BELL RINGERS. People are only generous when ringers are present. Indoor and Outdoor locations available. Call Salvation Army to sign up. Mike also welcome Norlan Hinke, their relationship started through Rotary and they traveled to Haiti together. Reminder of the opportunity to make many friendships through Rotary.
Club Announcements: November Fundraising Project: Operation Warm Coats- We collected enough funds to purchase 2 boxes of coats that will be distributed here is Muscatine with the United Way Kids First Fund. Our goal is 3 boxes so we will continue collecting funds through December. If you would like to arrange a donation outside of a regular meeting please contact Megan Francis at mfrancis@muscatinevision2020.org. Service Opportunity: Tomorrow- Tuesday December 7 10am -12pm Rotary has signed up to help at the Freezing for Food Trailer at HyVee Grocery at 2nd Ave. Please come by for all or some of the time and help collect food for Muscatine Families. Annual Meeting Announcement: Our December 13th Club Meeting will serve as our Annual meeting so we will be voting on officers for the 2022/2023 Rotary year.

Program: Update on the Quad Cities Airport
- Looking back 2017-2019 were all very successful with 600K to 700K passengers going through the airport, and then April 2020 traffic was basically grounded. Looking back at 2020 some significant impacts were: passenger traffic was down 58% in 2020, Lowest point in April saw 95% decline, overall revenue was down 35% through Dec 2020. Service was temporarily halted to Denver, Minneapolis, and Detroit, airlines reduced travel schedules all creating the worst recession in industry history. Looking forward to 2021, services resumed with major airlines to major cities, and middle seat restrictions were lifted and passenger traffic increased to a 21% decline from 2019. Thanksgiving travel restored to 94% from 2019. Updates coming to Solar Panels, Paging System and ARFF Truck. Other updates coming include: shorten runway and realign taxiway, and Project GATEWAY a $20-$40 million dollar project to update the terminal, last updated in 1985. Project Gateway includes Redesign of terminal ticketing, atrium and baggage claim areas. Move TSA baggage screening out of sight, expand TSA security screening area and exit from airside to landside. Remove brown brick flooring. Added amenities-New restrooms to exceed ADA standards, family restrooms, nursing suites, Canopy over curbside drop off lane, and add indoor/outdoor spaces
