Club Business:  We are hosting a blood drive right now with LULAC.  June 7th - June 12.  Call 563-349-1608 or e-mail cciasto@impactlife.org to make an appointment to donate blood.  Muscatine County 7 days average for positive Covid rate is 1.7% down from 3.8% 2 weeks ago.  The State of Iowa is at 1.9% for 7 day avg., down from 2.7% 2 weeks ago.

Program:  Our program was our very own Dr. Manasi Nadkarni updating us on our past global grant project - rainwater harvesting in Pingori India.  It is impressive how much the way of life has changed for Pingori.  They can now plant/harvest 3 crops a year and there is considerable more live stock - all due to having water.  Manasi shared a slideshow with us of photos she took while she was there.  Pingori now has 2 different stores in a big city stocked with fresh produce, etc. sourced from Pingori.  There is high demand for fresh goods rather than processed.  In order to keep the young from moving out of Pingori after school, they have created ways for quick cash flow - milk business for example.  Pingori is hoping to have roads improved by next season, they have the money to due this because of the success of rainwater harvesting.  Thank you Dr. Manasi Nadkarni

Reminders:  June 14th - we will be honoring our Paul Harris Fellows.  June 21st - Hy-Vee store manager - Matt Schweizer.  June28th - Sheriff Quinn Riess  - Muscatine County Sheriffs Office:  in a nut shell.  July 5th - no meeting, enjoy Independence Day.

Have a great week.
