Recap from the September 9, 2019 Club Meeting:
Visitors:  Chris Knapp  and JoAnne Ruby were the guests of Mike Ruby.  Karey Hawkins was the guest of Naomi DeWinter.  Nicole Cisne-Durbin was the guest of Nisha Ladlee. 
 
Happy News:  Jessica Wittman reminded us that tomorrow the Iowa Supreme Court will be holding arguments at the High School at 7:00 pm.   Harvey Allbee was happy that today is his wife's birthday.  Megan Francis let us know that it is national assisted living week and this Wednesday kicks off Sunnybrook's community lunch season.  Naomi DeWinter invited us to Chamber Business After Hours at MCC at 5:00 on Thursday.  Noami also shared that Scott Ingstad/1st National Bank helped start 2 youth savings accounts.  Larry Hetzler let us know that tonight there will be a fundraiser for the Muscatine Symphony at Boonie's. 
 
Club Business:  September 30th program will be club business.  We inducted 2 new members into Rotary.  Scott Dahlke from MCSA, sponsored by Charla Schafer.  Mike Janecek, civil engineer with Martin Whitacre, sponsored by Scott Ingstad.  Chris Knapp, past District Governor and current Foundation Chair, reminded us of Rotary Foundation dinner in Davenport on November 1.  Mike and JoAnne Ruby were honored/recognized as Major donors to Rotary Foundation. 
 
Program:  Students that attended RYLA this year.  Dalani Weber and her mother Suzie Weber.  Brian Prussman and his mother Karen Denison.  Janelle Tapia.  The 3 students shared their experiences at RYLA, that was held at Grinnell College in July.  All 3 students said that they made lifelong friends at RYLA.  It was life changing and left them wanting more.  Learned about values, leadership, empathy, how to work as a team.  They were all impressed by their counselors and Rotarian in their groups.  They enjoyed every second of it.    Thank you for sharing.
