Happy News: Larry Hetzler let us know of the Muscatine Arts Council fundraiser on August 4th featuring Jeff Barnhart, see Larry for tickets. Rick Gosney was happy to be back at work and rotary after having hip replacement. Sal Lobianco was happy that his son hit his 1st homerun on the Muskie Varsity Baseball Team. Scott Ingstad was happy that his back surgery went well.
Cow Bell Ringing: Jessica Wittman thanked Paul Fitzpatrick for helping with the power point presentation set up. Jessica also thanked Shane Orr for going live on the air with Jessica to talk about Rotary - on our facebook page. Jessica also thanked Holly Thomas-Koehler for helping set up programs for the month of July.
Club Business: Reminder - Jessica Wittman bought Rotary Koozies - they are for sale on donation - raising funds for Rotary.
Program: Our program was Brenda Chiristensen - Keep Muscatine Beautiful/Almost Friday Fest.
Brenda joined Keep Muscatine Beautiful (KMB) in 2009. KMB is engaging Muscatine residents to enhance the beauty of Muscatine by speaking at schools to children and planning events such as Healthy Living Fest. Currently KMB is presenting Almost Friday Fest - held the 4th Thursday of the month in June, July, August and September. July 25, will host the band Crazy Delicious, food trucks, beer and wine tent and kids play area. 5 - 8:00 at Riverside Park. Admission is FREE. If KMB makes a profit, they would like to start a fund to build a band shelter. KMB relies on sponsors to fund the events, they also need people to attend the events and volunteers to work the events. Thank you Brenda.
