Recap of December 17, 2018 Club Meeting: 
Happy News:  Frank Iliff was happy that he got to see all 7 of his grand children last weekend.  And he is officially retired from Monsanto.  Megan Francis was happy that Sunnybrook celebrated its 10 year anniversary last weekend and Thursday Contrary brewery will be at Sunnybrook doing tasting.  John Kuhl was happy that Chuck Long was our program today.  Jim Nepple was happy that is son and his family are visiting from Chili. 
 
Club Business:  Shane Orr announced that our $1000 goal was met for the Salvation Army - and our anonymous donor has matched that, as well as contributing $1000 to Rotary Polio Fund.  Thank you!  Shane also reminded all of us that funds need to be raised to match our grant for the trail signs and dog park benches. 
 
Program:  Our speaker was Chuck Long.  Chuck is the CEO and Director of the Iowa Sports Foundation.  Chuck was quarterback for the Iowa Hawkeyes, Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams.  Chuck was runner up for the Heisman Trophy in 1985.  He was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 1999.  Chuck is a Hawkeye through and through, ironically his office is in Ames, IA (home of the Cyclones).  Bill Snyder recruited Chuck for the Iowa Hawkeyes with a full ride scholarship.  His freshman season was in 1981.  The first time he starting was his sophomore year in 1982.  Chuck shared may wonderful football stories and jokes with us.  Chuck talked about his book, " Chuck Long:  Destined for Greatness".  He stayed after for signing of his book and also photos.  Thank you...
