Program for July 9, 2018:  Mike Ruby - Experiences as District Governor.
Invocation: 
Happy News:  Guests today - Shane Orr brought his wife, Lupe and son, Ody today.  Ody is one of our RYLA students.  He is active in band, jazz band, and marching band.  Mike Ruby said that as of last Saturday he is now the past district governor.  Shane Orr was happy his family was with him today.  Sal LoBianco said that Erika Cox did a great job for us as president.  Megan Francis said that the ribbon cutting at the new library was nice on Saturday.  Greg Jenkins reminded the block captain volunteers of the parade on the 4th.  Dana Miller's grandfather passed away - please keep her in your thoughts.  Rick Gosney gave a Rotary moment.   He let us know that you can google rotary moments.  He shared one from a Rotary International Director that he enjoyed.
 
Program:  Welcome Shane and thank you Erika. Erika Cox recapped some of the projects the club has participated in the last year.  OBER - One Bike for Every Rotarian.  Our club did outstanding and earned the 'Trail Blazer' award.  Our donations towards polio vaccines and Erika's participation in NID day.  Our local tree project and the way the club worked together on United Way's Day of Caring.  She is excited to see the next wave of community projects give our club more recognition and help the community, through the way finding signs and park benches.  And also our global project with the help of Tony Joseph to fund a dialysis center in India.  Erika said the she is thankful and honored to have served as our President last year.   Erika proceeded to pass the gavel to our 2018-2019 President - Shane Orr.  Shane graduated from Muscatine High School.  He attended MCC and graduated from Iowa Wesleyan with a degree in accounting.  He has an MBA from St. Ambrose.   Shane is married to his wife, Lupe.  He has 3 children, Michael, Rosie and Ody.  Shane has been at United Way for 10 years.  Shane is looking forward to the coming year and went over the goals for Rotary International, District 6000 and Rotary Club of Muscatine.  Shane encouraged our members to get involved to make the club vibrant and everything it can be.   Thank you Erika and Welcome Shane!
