Program: Jeff Kauffman provided an informative program on the Iowa Caucuses. Jeff wants us to know how great the caucuses are, how complicated they are and how they are not funded by the state . Probably about a $2 million dollar funds raised effort, some from the Republican Party of Iowa and some from the Democratic.  Run by volunteers with a core group of 5 young people who coordinated 1700 precincts. A significant amount of time is spent "begging for money" in order to support the caucuses in our state.

A Republican Caucus is different from a Democratic one. The Republicans go in, sit down, listen to some speakers about the candidates and vote.  Democrats move around the room and use a complex formula to count their votes.
Jeff thinks that Iowa is the best state to hold the caucuses because "if anyone can be President" Iowa represents that. It is not about 1 party, we have low advertising prices, you can go to all 99 counties easily and we have the system figured out. Other potential states would be Colorado and Arizona and Jeff's favorite would be Arizona because of the representation potential of diversity.
