News and Happy News: No meeting on January 16, 2017 in honor of Martin Luther King Day, and a Rotary Board meeting on January 23, 2017.  Kevin Jenison was inducted into membership in our club. Kevin is part of the Muscatine Journal staff and is the past President of the Paris,Illinois Rotary Club!! 
 
Judi is happy about the Hawkeyes!! Harvey Allbee invited us to Boonies to support the Tri T fundraiser. Mike Ruby is doing lots of Rotary...all over the state and out to California!! Cristian Lopez is proud of Rotary for our $3500 contribution to the Christmas Campaign!! Paul Fitzpatrick is proud of the Steelers!! Melanie Alexander is moving back into her office today!! Randall Cooper is celebrating his brother's birthday, number 23!!
 
Program: Jim Elias shared insights into being an entrepreneur:  you are doing something new, you are collecting resources and you are pulling all those elements together as in conducting an orchestra or band!!  Jim invited us to Open Coffee where coffee and conversation are shared to spur on new ideas!!  Startup Grind is a monthly event featuring an entrepreneur who shares his/her story.  The purpose of Grind is to give first by help ing others, make friends and finally through a new venture help others succeed!!
 
Rotarians are invited to come to the E Center on MCC's campus, use the website Muscatinebusiness.org, come to Open Coffee, Start Up Grind and share the word...about the great entrepreneurial efforts in Muscatine!
