Guests and Happy News: Marilyn Smith guest of Keith Porter. Charla Schaefer is happy about the partnership with MCC in discussing poverty and have a soup and socks Friday. Diana Broderson is proud of the Muscatine Fire and Police Departments. Caitlyn Ryan is proud of the positive community response to the student suicide last week. Scott Ingstad offers his true response of Surprise that the Cubs, Trump and the Hawkeyes won!!
 
Rick Gosney recognized Keith Porter as a new Paul Harris Fellow and Marilyn Smith as a Honorary Paul Harris plus 2 as honored by friends of the Muscatine Rotary Club for Marilyn. Rick also thanked Dick Stanley and Jim Stein for delivering Paul Harris honors to Kip Fisher's family and Jim Melson. Mike Ruby was also recognized for Paul Harris plus 8. Kudos to all!!
Program: Trisha Smith gave a program update on our local Salvation Army including a review of the goals and programs provided. The Campaign theme this year is "Be the Shield"  Trisha reminded us that we are all someone's parachute and stressed the importance we all play to others in our community. Salvation Army provides lunch meals, a food pantry, emergency support, Family Support and Youth Development opportunities.
She encouraged us to join District 6000 and Ring Bells this year on December 10. The goal for this year is $188,000.  Cristian thanked Rotarians for being the legs of the Salvation Army while he simply gets to wear the uniform!!
