Club News and Happy News: Guests today were Jan Touney of the North Scott Rotary and Mike Hartman,guest of Keith Porter.  Mary noted that today we were honoring 5 MHS Seniors with $1000 Rotary Scholarships.
 
Program: MHS Principal Mike McGrory provided the club with class of 2016 information noting that there are 344 Seniors who have achieved 870 college credits, with half the class having a 3.0 grade point average or higher, contributing 6184 volunteer hours and giving over$140,000 to charity!!  He concluded by sharing the class motto- "No one goes it alone United as Muskies!!"  Scott Ingstad provided scholarship commentary on each of the honored students.
 
Camila Franco plans on attending Kirkwood Community College in the Fall and will change her major to plan on becoming and elementary education teacher.
 
Akouvi Dansou also plans on elementary education as her major and will study at the University of Iowa. She told us that the scholarship "truly means alot".
 
Teddy Van Winkel described his high school experiences through the importance of band and plans to become a teacher also.  He hopes to get a K-12 music degree.
 
Macy Morrow planned on attending Iowa State University to major in Chemical Engineering and is reconsidering and now looking at the medical field to become a Physician's Assistant.
 
Gabby Hartman plans to attend Bard College and combine her love of playing the bassoon with her interest in science hoping to enter the field of Public Health!!
