Club News and Happy News: Not so happy news...Pam Collins is at Lutheran Living recuperating from a broken leg!!  If you have ideas for programs or want to visit Pam she would love to see you!!  There will be a budget meeting after the regular meeting today.  Caitlyn Ryan and Kim Warren were inducted into the club.  Megan Johnson is Caitlyn's sponsor and Shane Orr is Kim's. Greg Jenkins invited us to the Salvation Army Annual Meeting on May 5 at 6:00 p.m.  Naomi DeWinter enjoyed the Wesley Women's Fashion show.  Judi Holdorf helped her son and daughter in law move into a new house in California.  Caitlyn Ryan celebrated her mom's 55th birthday.  Tony Joseph celebrated his own birthday and his mom's!!
 
Program: Sheila Chaudoin was introduced by Chris Steinbach.  Sheila gave an overview of the Catholic Community in Muscatine. Father Samuel Mazzuchell came as a missionary to Muscatine in 1841.  The Red Brick Church was built in 1851. By 1866 there were more Irish than German members of the church. In 1874 a new church was built ont he corner of Green and Lucas. In 1879 a small school was built. St.Mathias was build in 1911 and was just torn down in 2016.  So St. Mary's now serves as one Catholic Community for Muscatine.
