Happy News: Ragbrai Riders who returned after a great week were Chris Steinbach, Janet Morrow, Steve Kundel and Jim Nepple.  Each with a great story about their week's experience.  Mike Ruby was happy that the District Governor Loring Miller was present with his wife Phyllis.  Loring Miller was happy to honor Norm Smith as a great Rotarian friend.

Program: Loring Miller, District Governor, updated us on the goals and activities of Rotary in District 6000 and Internationally for this year. The International President is the son of a polio victim.  Loring and Phyllis placed bows on the tables with their business cards and asked us to place them on our name badges to remember the annual theme of "Being a Gift to the World".  Previous to this meeting, Loring had met with the Board to review the upcoming year's goals and activities.  He then told us how our projects meet Rotary's Goals.  We are being asked us to brand all our projects with the Rotary emblem new and old in our community so that others know the good work of Rotary.  Loring's focus is on the Ponseti Club Foot support and Polio Eradication.  We are close on achieving much with both areas!!  His three areas of focus are: Foundation, Membership and Service to Youth.  Every Rotarian is encouraged to contribute to the Rotary Foundation annually if only $1. Membership is important to keep Rotary vibrant and growing.  Service to Youth is another opportunity to brand the club and grow our membership as well as, provide great experiences for youth through exchanges, Interact and RYLA. He also reminded us to have one program monthly about Rotary.  Loring concluded by reminding us we are "A Gift to the World."
