Presentation-
John Neinhaus- West Point Cadet

John Neinhaus, a West Point cadet and Moline High School graduate, joined us during his holiday break to talk about his experience at the academy. He has been visiting local schools, including Muscatine High School and Susan Clark Junior High, to share information with students who may be interested.

John explained that the application process is detailed and takes time. Along with the standard application, students must complete a medical review and secure a congressional nomination. West Point looks for well-rounded applicants who show leadership, character, and strong academics.

He also shared a look into daily life at West Point. Cadets start the day with morning formation and a required breakfast, followed by a full schedule of classes. Summers are filled with field training and specialty courses that prepare cadets for military service.
