Lindsey Phillips- Lindsey’s son competed at district for wrestling and made it to State wrestling. He will complete at the end of the month. Naomi DeWinter- Kim Warren’s son made it to state for MHS swim team! And thankful to Dan and Al for being here to talk to us about the Jackson Concert Series. Karen Cooney- Karen attended the MHS Sports Hall of Fame last Friday at the high school. It's always good to see Alumni come back and be recognized. Second, her daughter joined a running club. On Saturday, she ran in Clinton and finished in under 40 minutes.

  • April 13th: Trivia Night for Sleep In Heavenly Peace. We are collecting silent auction items. April 20th, 9-12 pm Bed Build event.
  • District Community Service and Global Grant training in March. Past projects include dog park benches, high school heart rate monitors, and accessible play equipment at the pocket park. Please think of other ideas to make an impact or meet our community's needs.
  • Hancher raffle ticket fundraiser. 4 Tickets to Martha Graham dance company on Friday, March 29, 2024 at 7:30 pm. Tickets for sale for the next two meetings. Drawing February 12th. Raffle tickets are $20 each or 6 for $100. Please help share the raffle information.
  • We received a letter of recognition for the club's 104th anniversary on February 1.

Dan Laaveg- Jackson Concert Series
Dan Laaveg is the Music Director and Chapel Organist at Wesley United Methodist Church in Muscatine. He began those positions in 2021. He held previous church music positions in Marengo and Cedar Rapids.
He taught choir in public schools for five years after undergrad before deciding to pursue church music as a career. He went to graduate school to prepare, and he received his master’s and doctoral degrees in Organ Performance & Pedagogy from the University of Iowa in 2016 and 2021, respectively.
A native of Clear Lake, Iowa, and a lifelong Iowan, he enjoys running, golfing, spending time with his wife Miranda, family, and friends, and watching sports and the PBS show All Creatures Great and Small.  
 
All concerts at Wesley Methodist Church in Muscatine are free and open to the public - no tickets required. Doors open at 6:30 pm for evening concerts. Doors will be locked 10 minutes after the performance begins.
